The Friends of the Michael White Adobe are dedicated to preserving, restoring, and sharing the historic Michael and Maria Rosario White Adobe in San Marino, CA as a dynamic educational resource honoring California’s multicultural heritage.
Friends of the Michael White Adobe (FoMWA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to the historic restoration and preservation of the Michael White Adobe. We are a broad coalition of community, industry representatives, and preservationists committed to rehabilitating the building which defines our community’s rich cultural heritage.
FoMWA engages students, scholars, and the wider community through immersive programs, partnerships, and storytelling that honor California’s multicultural heritage. We work in close cooperation with the elected leadership of the San Marino Unified School District.
We are funded by private donations; FoMWA uses these generous donations to support the restoration and upkeep of this beloved landmark. By safeguarding this rare and iconic site, we ensure that the history of Michael and Maria Rosario White, early California, and its diverse communities remain an accessible and inspiring legacy for generations to come.
